A couple of weeks back, the annual Pro-Am Winter Series began with the first event at Hallamshire Golf Club—the club where former US Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick played his golf growing up. The course was in exceptional condition, with greens which you would have thought were in the middle of the summer!! It was the first time I had played the course and I will most definitely be revisiting!
Despite the cold, wet conditions, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the course and a winning performance of 89 points came from the team of Professional Ryan O'Neill, Mike Gore, Paul Black, and Pete Butterworth, who were all delighted to take the winning prize! In second place, a team led by Professional Simon Lucas; alongside him Martin Packingham, Pete Durrans, and David Skett with 81 pts. Claiming third place with 77 points were myself as the Professional, Mike Farrimond, Phil Ramsker, and Sean 'the Sheep' Duffy.
In the Professional Individual, it was Ryan O'Neill who took the honours with 34 points and Simon Lucas in second with 31 points. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and we are all looking forward to the next one at Ganton, followed by the last event at St Annes Old Links.
